GNCC Raymond Kayser Memorial

GNCC Raymond Kayser Memorial

Helenne Kayser donated the Kayser Bonspiel Trophy and medals to the GNCC for the winners of the first event of a mixed bonspiel in 1984 in memory of her husband, Raymond Kayser. Patterned after the Francis Dykes, it is for mixed curling teams with players at least 21 years of age and having 5 or less years of curling experience.

The first event was held in 1984 at the St. Andrew’s Golf Club. The winning team was skipped by Sam Williams from the Curling Club of Boston.

Raymond Kayser

Raymond A. Kayser was an avid curler, sportsman, and member of the St. Andrew’s Golf Club. He expressed interest in providing an opportunity for inexperienced curlers to participate in their own mixed bonspiel but passed away before it could be implemented.
