Effective immediately, the Buffalo Curling Club has suspended all curling-related activities for at least two weeks due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. “The health and safety of not only our members, but also the families and friends of our members are a top priority,” the Board said in a statement last evening. “We’d like to thank our members for their continued support during this challenging time. The decision to suspend all curling activities did not come lightly and involved significant discussion and consultation. We believe this is the safest decision for everyone.”
In light of ongoing developments, and guidance from local and national officials, the BCC Board made the following directives effective immediately:
Leagues: all league play is postponed for at least two weeks through Thursday, March 26th. League participants will be contacted directly with further rescheduling information, once determined.
Bonspiel: the bonspiel scheduled for Saturday March 14th has been postponed. A new date has not yet been proposed. If the bonspiel is not rescheduled this season, refunds will be offered.
Rentals: all ice rentals scheduled through and including March 26th are canceled. Affected renters will be contacted directly to discuss options to reschedule at a later date.
The Board is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates of future developments within the next two weeks.
